CASE STUDY
Chongqing Luohuang Thermal Power Station Phase III (2×600MW)

Project Features

  • This project requires the Lysaght technical and design team to provide a complete steel cladding solution to all the concrete and curved steel rack structures.
  • The projected area of the roof was 18,000 square meters and the minimum radius was 15 meters. The walling system's total area is 13,000 square meters and the maximum support spacing of purlin is 12 meters

LYSAGHT® Solution

  • LYSAGHT TRIMDEK® was chosen as a roofing system for the project due to its ability to be installed with spring curving which met the challenging design requirements.
  • LYSAGHT® 's high strength, Z section purlin was chosen for the walling system. It was installed with lapped continuous spans and at the end of the span, the C section purlin was used to form a curved structure to meet wind load and durability requirements
  • LYSAGHT TOPSPAN® was applied to act as purlin in roofing and walling systems as the span of the concrete structure was not large and TOPSPAN® could better meet the complicated curving outlook of the roof.
  • Chemical anchors were applied as post-installed re-bars in the concrete area of the buildings. This solved possible problems caused by using no pre-embedded elements.
  • Thie Lysaght technical and design team provided the complete technical solution to the project, including design optimization, design detailing, on-time delivery and installation guidance, to make sure the project finished as scheduled and within budget.
