BHP acquired the balance of L y s a g h t , and continued to use the LYSAGHT® brand£¬BHP Lysaght first provided LYSAGHT systems to the projects in mainland China such as the Jia Shan Hotel in Guilin and the Gu Su Hotel in Suzhou..
BHP Lysaght set up it's first office in Guangzhou, China..
BHP founded its first wholly owned company in mainland China and began manufacturing the LYSAGHT construction system in Shanghai.
BHP Steel Lysaght (Guangzhou) Ltd. came into production.
By the end of the 1990's: Lysaght had established its position as a building solution provider with a reputation for product innovation. The company's excellence was demonstrated to the world through the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games which utilized many of its products and designs;
The steel division of the company separated from BHP and was publicly listed
on the Australian Stock Exchange as BHP Steel Limited.
BHP Steel opens new Lysaght manufacturing facilities in Chengdu and Langfang.
November 2003: The new parent company then changed its name to BlueScope Steel
Limited. Lysaght changed it's name into BlueScope Lysaght and began servicing a wide range of market segments from industrial to residential¡£
BlueScope Steel announced the acquisition of Butler Manufacturing. Butler became another important downstream business unit of BlueScope Steel. Lysaght and Butler are merged in 2005 into BlueScope Buildings.
BlueScope Steel set up a new coated coil line in Suzhou with a total investment of AUD$280 million. This plant manufactures improved Clean COLORBOND and ZINCALUME coated steel for LYSAGHT products. The panel manufacturing facility was set up in Langfang with total investment of USD$13 Million. Lysaght Guangzhou's new factory was put into production the same year.
